Registering a Musical Work
Proper metadata documentation is the foundation of accurate royalty distribution.
The 100% Share Rule
In international copyright management, total ownership shares for a musical composition must always sum up to exactly 100%. This encompasses:
- Composer Share: The musical melody, chord structures, and arrangements.
- Author/Lyricist Share: The words and poetic text.
- Publisher Share: Any assigned publishing or administration rights.
